Primitive Birthworks is a home-birth practice in Miami, Florida. We believe that birth is a sacred, instinctive, and powerfully transformative experience. Home birth and midwifery care is as old as childbirth itself. Midwives around the world who answered the call to this profession received training from the elder midwives and were well-respected healers in their community. My mission is to honor the ancient wisdom of physiological birth while combining it with modern knowledge to give families a respected birth experience. We are committed to supporting families with compassion, education, and resources that align with their desires to empower them in making informed decisions. Our goal is to build a trusting relationship with you to ensure you feel heard, valued, and safe every step of the way.

MEET YOUR midwife

My name is Mildred Bonilla, though most know me as “Millie.” I’m a wife, a mother of two, and a survivor of both childhood and domestic abuse. My faith is a significant part of my life, and it's the reason I became a birth worker. I had a traumatic pregnancy, but God redeemed my journey through my healing birth experience. It gave me the strength to pursue birth work and leave an abusive marriage. I had one son at a birth center, which changed my life completely, and my second is my bonus son; he and my amazing husband arrived during a healing chapter in my life. I have been involved in birth work for almost 10 years, first as a certified doula, then as a birth assistant, and more recently as a midwife. My life experiences have not only influenced my personal development but also the compassion and dedication that guide my practice.
